With a strong commitment to supporting individuals through life's challenges, Shenae Whitehead is a psychologist and founder of Heart to Heart Counseling and Wellness Center, PLLC. She offers trauma-informed therapy and psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Since 2015, Shenae Whitehead has provided services that include individual therapy for conditions like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, depression, and autism, as well as family therapy and psychological testing. She is trained in therapeutic techniques such as EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), CPT (cognitive processing therapy), TF-CBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy), and Theraplay.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Whitehead has been involved in research on military family stressors and resilience in military marriages. She completed her dissertation at Fielding Graduate University, in which she examined risk and resilience factors in military marriages, and contributed to studies on military family stressors through focus groups with service members and their spouses. She is a member of organizations like the American Psychological Association and the North Carolina Psychological Association.
Outside of her professional practice, Dr. Whitehead channels her passion for community service as the CEO of the Stacy Jones Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit she founded to support foster children, low-income families, and young women pursuing education. She also volunteers with Meals on Wheels and mentors others as a career coach.
